About Islamic Center
Hitchin Mosque was established in January 1984. It provides a place for worshipers to pray and contemplate life’s meaning, as well as being a hub for educational programmes and other services. Historically mosques have always been at the center of education and intellectual life.
The mission of the mosque is to help the people of Hitchin, Letchworth, and surrounding areas to learn more about Islam and to nurture their moral and spiritual development. In a rural town, the mosque is much more than a place for worship. It is a symbol for hope and the heart of local Muslim population and community.
